Aida
Broadway, March 29, 2000
Heather Headley, Adam Pascal, Sherie Renee Scott, John Hickok, Damian Perkins, Schele Williams
Well shot with nice closeups but with some generation loss. The quality is actually best when it's zoomed in, the generation loss is more apparent during wide shots. Slight buzzing hiss throughout. At the very bottom of the screen is a blurred 'bar', likely from the analog transfer. Some spotlight washout. However given the age it's in great shape - it's actually in better shape than the VHS copy I had years ago, judging off of my description on my old list. Credits are edited into the beginning of the video. Major's master.

Aida
Broadway, December 12, 2001
Maya Days, Idina Menzel, Matt Bogart (US)
Shot from far up in the balcony with quite a few heads in the way. The taper does a good job of shooting around it. Some color bleeding and the early signs of generation loss. Audio track is hissy, likely from the VHS to DVD transfer. Also a bit of bass overload in the louder bits. Someone near the taper had quite a few coughing fits.

Aida
US Tour, November 18, 2002 (Los Angeles, CA)
Simone, Patrick Cassidy, Kelli Fournier, Jacen R Wilkerson, Neal Benari, Jerald Vincent.
Very well filmed, quite a few great close-ups. Some slight generation loss (the beginnings of color bleeding), and there's a clipping in the audio track (possibly from a sloppy transfer or a scratched disk)

Beauty And The Beast
Los Angeles, April 12, 1995
James Barbour, Susan Egan, Burke Moses
Well shot, minimal generation loss (someone transferred from the analog version from an early generation copy.) Fair bit of audio hiss, however. Good mix of wide and close shots. Given the age of this video, it's in *excellent* shape.

Beauty And The Beast
Vienna, May/June 1997
Caroline Vasicek, Steve Barton, Kevin Tarte
Someone took several different performances and merged them together, there is a constant date counter in the right side of the screen and you can watch the date changes. As best I can tell, the show is complete. The video quality does leave a little to be desired, pixelation issues and gen loss, (Which I am sure were not helped by the fact it used to be available on VCD back in my early trading days, and is now only an AVI) yet for die-hard fans of Barton, this is definitely worth it.
AVI Format only.

Jekyll And Hyde
Patchogue, NY, July 21, 2001 4 PM.
Brad Little, Alicia Irving, Miriam Couch
Very well shot with some great close-ups. This is the first J/H I've been able to sit through and watch, though I think Brad Little had something to do with that. After seeing his Phantom, I just had to see his Jekyll . . . and I was not let down, he was amazing in my opinion (I've seen other reviews of this recording, and I stand by my own opinion!) The whole time I was . . . wow, amazed. Nice performances from the two ladies, but Little really stole the show.

La Cage aux Folles
Berlin, 1987/1988
Steve Barton, Günter Konig, Cusch Jung
Pro-shot of this production, I believe it may have aired on German TV? Not sure. At any rate, worth it if for nothing else than the wonderful Steve Barton.

Idina Menzel, Adam Pascal, Anthony Rapp, Taye Diggs, Jesse L. Martin, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Fredi Walker
PRO-SHOT. Not the full show, runs somewhere around 70 minutes. But the quality is GORGEOUS. Whoever put this to DVD had a very early generation copy.
